Luke 9:35 (And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.)
This was the second time that God spoke out of the cloud to confirm the sonship of Christ to the Father.
He spoke when Jesus was being baptised and confirmed it again on the Mount of Transfiguration: “This is my beloved Son, whom you should listen to.”
Peter’s desire to make three tabernacles for Moses, Elijah, and Jesus Christ was frustrated by this voice. Humans would have followed Peter’s counsel and built three temples for God wherever they found themselves.
They would have tried to mix the doctrine of Moses with that of Elijah and combine both with the doctrine of Jesus Christ to form another religion.
Their mindset was corrected immediately. They were to obey and worship only Jesus; He is the temple of God and the Word of God.
God’s voice was always with man in the beginning. He came to commune and interact with them in the garden, but Satan came disguised as the serpent to misinterpret what God had said and put the generations of men in jeopardy.
Which voice is in control of your life? If it is not the Word of Christ, it will be the voice of the enemy disguised in the spirit of Moses or Elijah. You know whom to obey by reading the Bible for confirmation.
There are Christians who are trying to interpolate Moses with Jesus Christ. They mix the words of the prophets with those of Christ. Whatever the prophets said that is not in line with the words of Jesus Christ should not be listened to.
Why do men still use candles and mantles that were used in the time of the prophets to represent the word of Jesus Christ?
Is this not how the doctrines of Moses, which represent the law, and Elijah find their way into the New Testament?
Unfortunately, Christians use the lives of Solomon and David to justify their marital practices. If David could marry more than one wife, they too believe they can do the same because it is written in the Bible.
But the word of Jesus says, “A man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
Moses permitted the Israelites to divorce their wives, but in the beginning it was not so. Jesus came to uphold the plan of God as it was written from the beginning of creation, which the sins of men have perverted to suit their carnality inherited from the fall.
Elijah, in his time, called down fire to consume his enemies, but Jesus Christ corrected this by telling John, “Do you not know what manner of spirit you are of?” It is not the spirit of Moses or Elijah, but the Spirit of Christ; not the spirit of vengeance, but of love.
Unfortunately, Christians are still obeying the spirit of Elijah by calling down fire against their enemies and declaring death upon those who hate them, contrary to the teaching of Christ, which says, “Pray for those who curse you, love your enemies, and do good to those who persecute you.”
In the end, these people will try to justify themselves at the throne of judgment by saying that they only did what the Bible says. But was it according to the word of Christ?
Jesus Christ says that it is those who obey His commandments and keep them who are His friends, not those who act contrary to His will.
You cannot rewrite the Bible to please yourself; the Word of God is settled forever in heaven.
Some churches were established on the doctrines of Moses and Elijah. Will you tell me that they obey the word of Christ or the voices of Moses and Elijah?
Some churches tell their followers to bring stones and brooms to beat their enemies to death. This is what motivates some believers to come to church, for they are not ready to listen to the message of repentance from sin, which is the root of their problems.
They have already built three tabernacles for the three of them while neglecting the word spoken from above that confirmed the supremacy of Jesus Christ, who is the Word personified. They have gone ahead to build three tabernacles that will condemn them on the day of judgment.
Until the church wakes up from her slumber and listens to Christ, the Head, she will continue drifting away from her purpose of converting souls and instead turn them into twice the children of hell.
The messages of Moses and Elijah came to interpret the law, but Jesus came to amplify it and give us the law that was established from the beginning, which man refused to obey because of the hardness of his heart.
But by the grace released in abundance on the cross, it has been given to the elect to know the mysteries of the kingdom and live a holy life until the end.
Prayer: Father Lord, direct me to the right path if I am already on the wrong way that wants to damn my soul, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
