Matt 19:20 ( The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what I lack yet?)

This man gave the testimony of what he has been doing since when he was young, the question is that what’s now the necessary things he needs to do, since he thought he had fulfilled all righteousness that God demand from His followers. Christ made him know that it wasn’t enough to claimed His discipleship.

He came to asked the Lord about the way of salvation but still justified himself for the law he was keeping since when he is young.

Jesus Christ spoke nothing but the truth by pointing at his inefficiency and what has become hindrance to his perfect relationship with God, which must give way for him to truly live.

His testimony depends on his own righteousness to see God, but the Lord present the righteousness of God for him to follow, which he outrightly rejected.

Christians of nowadays that want to move forward from being mediocre claimed their obedience to the law of God, they obey the old and the new testament, but their testimony still fall short of the glory of God, because they failed in pulling down Satan’s stronghold for God to take over.

Jesus Christ told the man what he must do to be acceptable before God, he went home with sorrowful heart for he couldn’t let go of Satan stronghold erect in his life.

He claimed to obey God but didn’t have His love at heart to the extend of forsaken all for Him. He love his wealth more than the fellowship of God.

He claimed to know all the law, but his love to his poor neighbor was missing, because he couldn’t give his all to please that poor and wretched neighbors.

Jesus Christ want to elevate us above natural, the carnality that is working contrary to the purpose of God in our life, but our assistant is needed to achieve it.

Message of the new testament is for God to be exalted far above our carrier or wealth or love or any other things that is more valuable to us, but not necessary to our existence.

Time of grace is more fiecer and violence than the time of law, it’s only the violence at heart that can take the kingdom by force, it’s unfortunately that Christians of today are hiding behind the grace of God to commit more sin to the detriment of their souls; they forget that we can’t continue in sin and pray that grace should abound.

Wealth had taken over the place of God in the heart of this young man, likewise many people in our generation; supposed God ask a general overseer to leave his post and start learning at His feet, will he agree and not say, it’s the devil that is talking, because in all his life, that ministry is more important to him than the owner of that ministry, but Christ want it to be disposed for Him to reign permanently.

He kept all the law but disobeyed the greatest of all, he neither love God nor fellow human beings, he love himself more than God; this new commandments expose his wretched state.

It’s Satan stronghold in us that Christ want to pull down to take his rightful position; it might not be wealth or any other things, but the things that is standing between us and His love.

God told Abraham to sacrifice his only son to test his loyalty to Him, when he passed the test, He promised that his seed will possess the gate of his enemies.

He broke the stronghold that child is having on him, because God wants to be all in all and only his center of attraction.

There is a test that God will carry out in the life of individual, that will pull down whatever strongholds for Him to take His rightful position, He tested Job by taken everything from him and known that Job don’t have anything else but God.

Every man on pilgrim to heaven must pass through this test, it may not be wealth or riches, but something that we can’t do without, things that we are afraid to lose, even though its presence is affecting our relationship with God; to some people, it’s may be career or position in church and society, they mixed it with the worship of God and put God in second position.

Most people even sacrifice their blood to keep it, but it suppose to be other way round with God, to sacrifice everything including our blood to keep God in our life.

This is the message of abandonment, until we reach there, we are still far from where we suppose to be.

What God called you to be is different from what the world want from you, both are walking in opposite direction, the purpose of God must come to reality and the purpose of the world must be annulled.

God don’t want anything in-between Him and His children, a man to be used by God should have nothing tying him down with the world, the stronghold must be cut off, this start our relationship with God, when the door that linked us to the world is permanently closed.

All Jesus disciples except Judas forsook all to follow Him; Matthew the tax collector, including Peter and John; we will all reach that stage if we truly want to become His disciples.

Prayer: Father Lord, take me to a stage that I won’t need any other things than you in this world, in Jesus name amen
