This teaching focuses on the goal of every christian and why the greatest pursuit is securing a place in the book of life. It highlights the danger of relying on gifts, miracles or earthly success while ignoring obedience, repentance and total surrender to God’s will.

Luke 10:20 ( Notwithstanding, in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice that your names are written in heaven)

Jesus Christ said, Do not rejoice in this that demons bow at your command, but rejoice that your name is written in the book of life.

Whatever you achieve on earth, the only thing that is supposed to be in your mind always is that your name should appear in the book of life after you leave this world.

The main goal of a Christian the moment he turns his life to God is not to acquire gifts or material things, but for his name to appear in the Lamb’s book of life that was written from the foundation of the world.

No matter the position you occupy in the church or the work you’re doing in the name of God, if your name is not found in the book, it would have been better if you had not been born.

The apostle rejoices that demons bow down to them at the mention of Jesus’ name, but Jesus cautions them not to rejoice in this. Demons may bow for you in this world, but they may later be your tormentors in hell.

You might be controlling demons and sending them on errands, telling them to do and undo, but in the end, they may become your master in hell if your name is not found in the book of life.

You might overcome witchcraft in this life and conquer your household wickedness, but if your obedience is not complete, your name will be absent in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Demons leave some people alone in this world without troubling them. They overcome curses and poverty to become wealthy. The devil allowed them to have beautiful families, including brilliant children. They may always have testimonies of what the Lord has done for them as God’s servants.

Some Christians who don’t know their worth might even be envious of their well-favoured life.

But after they died, it will be another story for they don’t allow God to control their lives, so the power they obey will become their controller in hellfire.

They work to fulfill their fleshy desire, not to put their names in that book.

Our paramount role as Christians is to put our minds towards fulfilling the Will of God, and let our will be submerged in God’s Will.

Jesus Christ says, Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, after which all that men are running after shall be added.

Whatever you’re struggling to achieve in life, first focus on having your name written and not deleted from the book before proceeding to do others, that is why many Christians forget heaven and place their focus on what to gain on earth.

When you always think of heaven, it will make you keep the word of God in your heart, and also make it difficult to fall into the antics of Satan.

Most Christians who thought that they had their name written are yet to repent, not to talk of being a partaker of Abrahamic blessings.

Even if it’s written, they have forgotten that it can also be deleted at the slightest provocation against heaven.

Your gifts can confuse and make you think that God is on your side, that he is still using you, even though Judas Iscariot was used by Christ, but ended up in hell.

This is what confused King Saul, because he was still prophesying among the prophets, he believed that he was still in the book, not knowing that God had rejected him long ago.

Heaven is for those who always obey “thus saith the LORD” and always surrender at his feet.

You can serve God all your life, but it’s still not found written in his book. He told Moses that it’s whoever offends me that I will wipe out his name.

Check your life if you’re still in the right standing with God before it’s too late, so that you won’t be disappointed on that day when they seek your name and it’s not written there.

You see crowds gather at your crusade, you are happy, you see demons bowing down for you as the anointing was flowing, you are happy, you see people respecting you because of the anointing, you are rejoicing, have you ever pondered if your name is in the book of life?

It’s the truth that the Bible says, we are justified by faith, not by works, but have you ever thought that your faith in Jesus Christ will carry you through this journey?

If you truly have faith in him you will believe in his word and act by faith in obeying all his commandments.

It’s not just by faith alone, that faith also includes you doing all that is written in the book of law, so that it may be well with your souls and receive welcome, faithful servant into the kingdom of your God.

Most of us are not walking in total obedience to his commandments; we pick what pleases us in his word and neglect others, but still believe that our name is written in the book.

Not working in total obedience to the Word of God is proof of our unbelief in Christ Jesus.

It’s when we get there that we will be surprised to see that we have been worshipping in vain all this time with all that we are doing to please men and not God.

All these manifestation is not the criteria to appear in God’s presence, if you are yet to repent and be saved, it might mean you are just a servant not yet elevated to sonship, for it’s only son that will live in father’s house forever, for their names is in the book of life, but servant will be chased out for their names is not in the book of life.

You need to check your life in the mirror of his Word to know if you’re worthy, if not the mercy of God is there for you, it’s not by power nor by might, but by the spirit says the LORD, he is ready to remove things that will hinder us from getting there, and make us clean to appear in his presence.
