Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out; and I will write upon him the name of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

This world is a battleground. The battle is against the flesh, the devil, and the world. It is through these avenues that the power of darkness finds its way into the life of man and makes it miserable.

If you can overcome these three enemies, you have overcome the forces of darkness and are more than a conqueror.

Unfortunately, many people are fighting a battle they do not understand. They fight the shadow while leaving the substance untouched. They fight what is far from them while ignoring what is as close as a vein in the neck.

We fight witches and forces of darkness through prayer and fasting, yet leave the flesh and the world untouched. How, then, can we become more than conquerors?

Jesus said that the one who overcomes will be made a pillar in the temple of God. If you do not know what to fight, how will you become an overcomer in this battle?

Some people are using the weapons of their enemy to fight against him. They do not understand that their victory is in what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for them on the cross.

When you fight the enemy with his own weapon, you become his captive. Instead of becoming more than a conqueror, you become prey.

Jesus Christ came to fight this battle for us against Satan. He overcame temptation in the wilderness by denying the flesh. He overcame the vanity of life by refusing to bow to Satan in exchange for the glory of the world. He overcame the lust of the eyes and the pride of life by refusing to jump from the pinnacle of the temple to prove a point.

If He had failed, the whole of humanity would have failed. But because He overcame, He gives us the power to trample upon the forces of darkness, resist temptation, and come out victorious.

He went to the cross willingly and disarmed principalities and powers, making us more than conquerors.

The death we needed to die because of the sin of Adam, He died. The suffering we needed to suffer, He suffered. He gave us victory on a platter of gold. He suffered our punishment and gave us grace to live above sin and temptation. He took our cursed life and gave us His blessings.

He made His grace sufficient for us to live only for Him and to overcome the problems of life that are rooted in the flesh and the world, which Satan himself uses as instruments.

How can we become more than conquerors if not through the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ?

We must abide in Him, and He must abide in us. Without Him, we are nothing more than pawns in the hands of the enemy.

Have you overcome the spirit of envy that makes you hate someone without reason?

As Christ nailed the flesh to the cross, you also ought to go to Calvary and nail it there.

Have you overcome the spirit of pride that makes you compete with God?

With this spirit, you take vengeance against your offender. You refuse to forgive those who trespass against you. You are too proud to come before God in humility and confess your sins, thinking that God will forget and Satan will forget.

Yet, in all these things, you are busy fighting witches and wizards in prayer.

Brother, you have not yet reached the level of an overcomer, not to talk of becoming more than a conqueror.

Are you still battling with fornication and masturbation as a youth? Or are you an adult still battling with adultery and masturbation?

Is it difficult for you to take your eyes off an attractive woman without lusting after her?

Most Christians are still at a level where sin is gaining dominance. Covetousness and greed will not let them go. They remain captive to the lust of the eyes.

You are yet to overcome selfishness and live a selfless life for God, humanity, and yourself.

These things become doors through which the power of darkness interferes and establishes strongholds in any area of your life where the law of God is not in control.

Your finances that are not under the control of God will not give Him glory. The power of darkness will build strongholds to dominate and control what has not been surrendered to God.

What is that area of your life that has not yet been submitted under the power of the cross?

You can only become more than a conqueror through Him who loves you, wants to take preeminence over your entire life, and desires to become Lord over every situation.

He has done it before. It remains for you to give Him the preeminence, allow Him to take over from the devil, and bring your life into accordance with His Word.

Have you overcome your gluttony?

You eat anywhere and anything without thinking about your health. Then, when it begins to work against you, you blame the witches of your father’s compound.

There are habits you need to overcome before you can regain control of yourself. Some people have the habit of drinking cola after every meal, three times a day, yet they do not want to die of diabetes.

No one cursed you with it. You curse yourself when you continue taking what will affect your health in the future.

What you are doing today will surely affect you tomorrow if it is negative.

If you cannot control your appetite, how will you control the whole body?

Discipline begins with the mouth: what you say and what you eat. If you are able to control this area, your battle is already half won.

You cannot be more than a conqueror while sin is conquering you.

You cannot be more than a conqueror while the flesh is ruling you.

You cannot be more than a conqueror while the world is controlling you.

The true conqueror is the one who has surrendered to Christ, allowed the power of the cross to deal with the flesh, refused the attractions of the world, resisted the devil, and remained in Christ.

In all these things, we are more than conquerors, not because of our strength, but through Him that loved us.
