Joshua 5:8,9 ( And it came to pass, when they had circumcised all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole. And the LORD said to Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day)
There is a place called Gilgal where God rolled away the reproach of Egypt from his people.
It’s also where they were all circumcised according to the Abrahamic covenant with God.
This is the shadow of what is to come to the children of God on their journey to the presence of their Father in heaven from the land of bondage to sin, the world, and Satan, the spiritual Egypt.
We have been redeemed out of slavery by the blood of Jesus, Power is given to all who believe to become the sons and daughters of God, It depends on how we utilize it that’ll take us there.
We experience water baptism that makes us identify with Christ and fellowship with the brethren and our mind being renewed daily in His Word.
We share the bread of life and living water through our fellowship with the brethren and are washed by the lamb’s blood.
The reproach of sin is yet to be removed and the curse of Adam will still manifest if we have not experienced the heart circumcision.
Circumcision of the foreskin of the flesh was received by Father Abraham which is the shadow of the things that will happen to the children of Abraham by faith.
Thought we may not experience the circumcision of flesh but our circumcision of the heart must be certain that’ll break the foothold of the flesh.
Also to claim the blessings of Abraham that are for the children of faith who differentiate themselves from the world.
This will remove the reproach of Egypt, the consequences of sin, and the repercussions of disobedience against divine law.
There are curses all humanity inherited from the first parents, and there are curses that are self-imposed through ignorance.
All sinners are under reproach, the curse of Adam, the devil has marked all his followers who are in allegiance to his authority.
Most Christians carry this carryover of Egypt and enter the fellowship of the saints, until the surgery is performed and the foreskin of the heart is removed, which open door for the curse to operate, they won’t be able to live according to the Will of God, and enjoy the life of the spirit.
It’s the circumcision of the heart that removes us from the curse of Adam and places us under the covenant of Abraham and enables us to become perfect according to divine standards, which gives us access to our heritage in Christ.
Without this, we will stay beside water and still be thirsty, and stay amid plenty and experience starvation.
Most of us remain halfway to the top and refuse to press further to the holy of holies which belongs to called-out people and those who have experienced justification.
Calvary is our spiritual gilgal, where our spiritual circumcision takes place and the reproach is rolled away.
This is where we received justification when our sin was wiped out and the consequences were removed.
Consequences follow every sin committed, demons are standing to accuse and bring it to remembrance whenever we seek God’s favour in prayers.
These are demons of accusations that are standing against all Pilgrims on the way to the promised land.
They stand at the right hand of everyone to bring all sin to stand against any request tendered before God.
They hinder the prayers of the saints from being answered and block the way of progress.
It’s because we have not realized where it went wrong and the devil is taking advantage of it to oppress us and bring us under his dominion.
It’s not until we surrender our totality at the feet of the Cross of Christ and dump everything there, things that elevate but don’t edify the church are all abomination before God.
We dumped our self-righteousness and nailed the flesh to the Cross by taking on the righteousness of Christ that became our garment to enable us to appear before the throne of our Father.
That is when a new life begins and old things pass away, reproach is finally rolled away.
Those who avoid the way to Calvary will have their carnal nature intact which will end up blocking them from receiving whatever belongs to them.
As the journey of the Israelites took one step after the other, so also the journey of our faith into divine presence.
The Bible says, he who is predestinated, he also called, and he who he called, them he also justified and he who he justified, he also glorify “.
It’s the glorified ones that are conformed to the image of his son.
Remember that not all who left Egypt made it to the promised land, not all of them made it to Gilgal and not all of them experienced the reproach of Egypt being rolled away from their life.
Not all who started well finished well, it’s not all Christians who started this journey that’ll experience glorification, they remain at the stage of not being justified, they still glory in the the sin of their forefathers, there are sins they’re yet to repent of, (they forget that we can’t hide anything from God, even everything is open in his sight) so they do it secretly without the awareness of the saints; so therefore they couldn’t conform to the image of Christ, thereby remaining in slave status and end up in the level of mediocrity forever.
Redemption qualifies us for everything that is in Christ Jesus, freedom from sin and sickness and afflictions with poverty inherited from Adam, it brings us into new life, and to live a life of heaven on earth.
We must put all our effort into reaching this stage, so that we can also reign with Christ in his father’s kingdom, No one with the curse of Adam will enter the kingdom of God, for it’s a reproach to the people of the kingdom, that’s why it must be rolled away.
Curses issued by God can’t be removed by any sacrifice or atonement, that is why the Son of God came to sacrifice himself as an atonement for the sin of the world and to break the curse that runs from generation to generation upon those who come to the place where his blood was shed.
This is the place where flesh shall be crucified, the poison of the serpent removed from man and our dominion over the devil and the world is established.
Prayer: Father Lord roll away the reproach of Egypt from all your children that look onto you for deliverance, in Jesus’ name amen
