Luke 16:27-29 ( Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou would ‘st send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren, that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them)

The rich man find himself in hell, in a situation which he is not expecting, he saw a man he detested, sitting on Abraham bossom, he asked the person to use the tip of his finger to put water in his mouth, this is his first prayer in hell which Abraham declined for he was not in position of answering prayers, and he also know that God is not the God of the dead but of the living.

This is unfortunate for those who wait until they reach hell before praying for repentance; they will find themselves being disappointed on that day.

He requested the mercy of Father Abraham to grant him the opportunity to take water from the tip of Lazarus ‘ fingers which was declined, the mercy he couldn’t show to his fellow human while on earth is what he was requesting in hell.

When the Bible says, blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy, if you want God to show you mercy, be merciful to others while living, this is the law of sowing and reaping.

He went ahead to request on behalf of his household, he had five brethren who must hear the message of salvation before it’s too late, but that prayer also was declined.

If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets there is nothing someone sent from hell can do to change their mind.

Had God answer prayers prayed in hell, no one would have gone to hell, the road to hell would have closed and the traffic there would have been reduced to the barest minimum.

Those who are there only have two kinds of prayers just like the rich man, that God should give them a second chance and that their family should not experience the torment of hell.

God is not the God of the dead, that’s why he won’t answer them, he only answers the living if they call on him, they missed the chance to pray to him on earth because of their unbelief how will he answer when their time has expired?

Hell is permanent separation from God, they have separated from God who answers prayers and tramples upon his mercy resulting in seeing themselves in hell.

Even if God sent someone from the grave, the result will still remain the same. Is it those who failed to listen to what is written in the Bible and the preaching of the prophets that will now obey the ones sent from the pit?

The testimony of Abraham is coming to pass in our generation, when people are returning from hell telling people what they saw there, but many wouldn’t believe for their minds had been sealed not to comprehend the message from God.

This message came to confirm what Abraham said to the rich man, the person who refused to listen to the living, how will he respond to the messages of the dead?

If these kinds of men get to hell, they will be expecting God to listen to their prayers, when they refuse to listen to God while on earth, how do they expect God to grant their requests in hellfire?

God too isn’t the God of the dead, he is the God of the living.

After Christ’s resurrection, he breathed into the disciples and gave them new life in him, as God breathed into man and he became a living soul , this is what gave them access to the Father and had their prayers answered.

It’s the breath of God in Adam that turns him into a living soul; likewise, the breath of Jesus Christ in us gave us access as born-again Christians to the Father, and whatever we ask shall be granted.

Men love easy ways, they are deceive by the great deceiver who promised them heaven in hell, had he been the one who hold the key of hell, all the whole world would have followed him, for he promise his followers a kingdom in hell, but unfortunately Jesus Christ is the one holding the keys of death and hell, and he determine the punishment there, Satan don’t have a say there.

It’s better to pray now so you won’t pray a prayer that can’t be answered.

Those children you refuse to train in the way of the Lord or your brethren you’re afraid to tell what the message of salvation is, when you died and leave them behind, all your prayers shall be centred on them in hell for them not to come there, but it would have been too late.

It’s the living who pray for the living, living can’t pray for the dead, even the prayer of the dead won’t help themselves not to talk of helping those who are alive.

I pity those who sacrificed to the dead to deliver them from the challenges of life; had they had the power to save themselves, they wouldn’t have died untimely or found themselves in hellfire.

As God is revealing the mysteries and punishment of hell through those who had been there, some of us don’t believe, that is the confirmation of what Abraham said, that if they wouldn’t believe the prophets and Moses, they won’t believe even in someone who was sent from hell.

I was discussing the testimony of Abraham Yakoob about hell with someone, the person said it’s a fabricated story, I pity this generation, even the son of God came to explain the situation in hell, and many still insist on going there to witness it themselves.

If these kinds of people find themselves in hell, how do you think God should answer them?

Jesus revealed hell more than any prophet in the Bible, what takes one there and the eternal conditions of hell, but many still bypassed the message and find themselves in hell, they think the word of God is a story which you can choose to believe or not or pick whatever pleases your carnal desire and leave the rest for God to settle.

The problem with Christians is that they don’t study their bible as if God is speaking to them directly, they study to teach others while they don’t teach themselves.

But the word of God is like double edged sword, which speaks to the listener and the speaker.

Had we been applying it to ourselves before we applied it to others, it would have been more effective to the listener and the speaker and we wouldn’t have to pray in hell for we won’t go there.

Prayer: Father lord, open the spiritual understanding of your people to know that your word is Yea and Amen and it’s forever settled in heaven, in Jesus name amen.
