Genesis 31:19 ( And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father’s)

Rachel was Jacob’s wife, whom he served for seven years before seeking her in marriage. She was his favourite and the apple of her father’s eyes.

Jacob returned to his father’s house after a sojourn with Laban, his mother’s brother. He left without Laban knowing and ran off with his wives and children.

Laban discovered that his images were missing thinking it was Jacob who stole them, when they were searching the camp, Rachel sat on it pretending she was on her monthly period while she was pregnant with her last child.

Jacob swore that whoever stole the idols shall surely die, the judgment came to pass after she delivered her child, she gave up the ghost.

How many of us as a Christian still going about with the idols that we are supposed to have disposed of after we give our lives to God?

It might not necessarily mean a golden or wooden image, but something that doesn’t need to be related to our faith that we still cling to in the journey to the presence of our Father, our heavenly habitation.

I wonder what Rachel wants to do with her father’s idols that made her stole it, she already knows that the God of Jacob had nothing to do with any image, Will she set up idols when she reaches the end of her journey to replace the God of Jacob?

There are things we still hold on to that are causing hindrance to our breakthrough, there are things that are not necessary to our faith that we still hold on to that will be a hindrance to seeing the face of God.

These idols have been brought over to the church building, they focus on these rituals more than they focus on the lord Jesus Christ.

I went to a church on Sunday and the pastor said we walked around the church building seven times before going home, I just picked up my bag and left the church.

What does that have to do with my salvation, is there any price for me to pay again after Christ paid it all?

The glory of God is being given to a building which won’t have a chance after the rapture they divert the worship that is meant for God to the mountain and the valley while the real habitation of God is dying for attention which was not given.

The idols in some people’s lives are the sins they inherited from their family, how can you take anger with you to the presence of the living God? Some inherited bleaching of the body from their parents, this is a pattern from their family line and they continued doing it, why will the curse affecting their generation not run after them?

Those who are doing this have already placed themselves under perpetual curse if they fail to repent, no atonement will erase it if they still keep themselves under inherited bondage.

A child of God is on a transition journey from his father’s house, which is Satan under the disguise of the flesh, to her husband who is Christ with a new name and new identity, no longer bearing her father’s surname but becoming one with her husband.

She now belongs to a new family and should dispose of all the demonic acquisitions from her former life, he is a new creature, and old things have passed away and all things should become new.

But unfortunately, the demons acquired in the world are still their accomplice in the journey of life, most Christians with familiar spirits refuse to dump them at the feet of the cross, they carry it over to use it as an instrument in the vineyard of God.

How many Christians have come out confessing to witchcraft? They wouldn’t because they believe they can still use it to help God in his vineyard. These are the idols of our past life that we still cherish and believe in, but this will bring death with it and cut the life short from fulfilling its purpose.

Most of us left the worldly church for new denominations and still brought over the doctrines that made us leave there over to a new gathering, if you love it so much why do you leave, you would have stayed there to add to the decadence that already exists.

Jesus didn’t only come to oppose religion, he came to oppose the total way of life that belongs to the flesh, wherever he was preaching, the accuser was always there as the Pharisees and Sadducees looking for loopholes to catch him.

Repentance means change from your old way to the new, change from the way of Adam to the way of Christ, you can’t mend new clothes with the old ones, else it will tear and condemn it, you can’t put new wine inside an old bottle, else it will burst the bottle and the wine will be wasted.

Your doctrine is your idols, if it doesn’t favour them where you left, why do you expect it to be different where you are?

Those who left other religions to Christianity are now introducing what they despised there into their newfound faith.

I know a man who left a white garment church because of something related to rituals and idolatry but still introduced the same to his newfound faith to the extent that you can’t know the difference only they don’t wear white, if that place is good enough for him to copy them, why did he leave there?

This is the error of our faith had we actually believed in Christ, we wouldn’t have tried to help him by adding the leaven of the Pharisees into the faith.

No matter how you hide it, your idols will find you out, men will see where you’re coming from because of the aroma of your sins, the idols that won’t leave but are ready to destroy you.

It only meant that you have not been washed or cleansed by the blood of the lamb, unless you visit the cross to dump your loads of sin it will follow you to the judgment seat and will disqualify you from entering his presence.

Something inherited from parents like rings or jewelry, is not supposed to be in your load, it can only contaminate your relationship with God.

There was a golden ring given to me by someone as family heritage to every child born in the family, I collected it at first and put it on my child’s finger because of ignorance.

Later the spirit of God warned me to remove and dispose of it, not knowing that the ring had already caused havoc with a negative impact on my son, till he grew up and started seeing snakes hanging and biting that particular finger in the dream, till it grew big and be dragging it everywhere in his dreams.

We prayed and nullified the effect and asked God for forgiveness, then God opened his eyes to see the past when the person that help us disposed of it was the one who came in the dream to remove the serpent from his hand, this is a real deliverance.

The problem caused by ignorance will surely have negative effects in your life, know that, your ignorance won’t exonerate you when the judgment shall be released.

Prayer: Father Lord, deliver me from my past, don’t let it hold me bound on the way to your presence, silence the voice of my past that is working against my advancement in life, in Jesus name amen.
