YOUR SOUL’S WORTH 2

Esau showed contempt for his heritage and birthright, thereby forfeiting the privilege associated with his position in God’s covenant purpose.

God is humanity’s true heritage. Will you exchange your true heritage for something without eternal value?

Your soul was created in the image of God, demonstrating the unique significance He has given to human life. Yet, in your foolishness, you may surrender your soul to the devil and allow him to do with it as he pleases.

Satan tells you what he considers your worth, and you agree with him. You, whose soul is worth more than the entire world, allow the devil to offer you the glory of this world, a mere pittance in exchange for your eternity.

Why exchange what is eternal for what does not last? Everything in this world will end, but God endures forever.

The glory Satan offers is temporary and fading. He presents it to you in exchange for your eternal destiny, hoping to lead you into everlasting destruction.

Ask those who possessed glory yesterday where they are today. Many are no longer here. Their earthly glory has faded, and they have left their possessions behind. The same fate awaits you if you exchange your soul for the things of this world. But your end will not simply be physical death. If you die outside Christ, you will face eternal judgment and the punishment prepared for the devil and his angels.

This is the terrible consequence of surrendering a soul that never belonged to you in the first place. You take what belongs to God and hand it over to another in exchange for the devil’s temporary toys.

A thief has no place in God’s eternal kingdom. Satan has come to steal, kill, and destroy. When you allow him to deceive you into surrendering your soul, you become a reflection of Satan and an instrument in his hands, working against your own soul.

If you remain in his service until the end, you will share in the judgment prepared for him and his angels.

Satan attempts to measure the worth of a soul in monetary terms because he understands what human beings desire.

He knows that many people measure their worth by what they possess and the material wealth they acquire through the talents God has given them.

He uses their desire for wealth, possessions, influence, and status to deceive them into exchanging what is eternal for what is temporary.

Not only your souls belong to God; your spirits and your bodies also belong to Him. Your bodies must also be surrendered to him as a living sacrifice; whatever you’re holding back from Him disqualifies you from being His possessions.

You can’t say your soul belongs to God and compromise your body with the world’s pleasures; it’s your soul that will answer on the day of judgment for whatever you did with your body.

Money and the quantity of your earthly possessions do not determine your true worth. In terms of earthly possessions, Esau was more influential than Jacob, yet Jacob carried the mantle of the divine covenant.

The devil understands the power of material possessions as a means of temptation, but many people fail to recognize his schemes because their attention is fixed on material things.

What if you bought a car that you would never drive? What if you built a house in which you would never live?

Satan gives people things they may never live to enjoy. It is those who wait on God who enjoy the blessings He gives, even into eternity.

Satan exploits this misplaced focus to rob people of what truly matters, using earthly possessions as bait to gain their souls.

Why do you measure your life’s worth by the glory of this world? Why do you measure the worth of your soul by the vanities of this life?

The richest man today might not be the richest tomorrow. Many have sold their kidneys to acquire the gadgets of this world, only for those gadgets to lose their value as time passes.

What was most important yesterday might no longer be relevant tomorrow. Such is the nature of worldly glory: it is not permanent but continually fading. Will you allow this fleeting glory to become the reason you hold your eternal heritage in contempt?

God’s standard is not the standard of this world. What the world considers valuable may be worthless in eternity, while what the world despises may be precious in the sight of God. Therefore, do not allow the temporary glory of this world to determine the value you place on your soul.

Prayer: Father Lord, into Your hands I commit my spirit, soul, and body, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
