Hebrew 3:14 ( For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end)

God analyses in the Bible what a priest should look like, making a distinction between the children of Levi and the people of the other tribes.

He consecrated the house of Levi to himself, and they did not have portions in Jacob, nor a land in Israel, but their portion is God Himself. So, they became wealthier than other tribes, as God remained their heritage.

We are called to be priests in the kingdom, far beyond ordinary followers, far beyond religious bigots, far beyond ordinary Christians, elevated far above the Pharisees and the Sadducees to be separated as priests among the Christians, while Jesus christ remain as the High priest of our profession.

Christians are called out as people of a unique race, royal priesthood and a peculiar people, separated by God as his chosen.

There are laws that are applied to the priesthood in the congregation, there are clothes that befit the position, their outward appearance must depict that of royalty, different from the harlots out there.

Their ways of life should represent royalty if they are to appear before the great king, for they are divine representatives of the Almighty and bear his unction to propagate the good news of salvation to the world.

As a separated entities, there are things they must not do, there are things that people are doing that they must not involve themselves in, because many are called but few are chosen.

There must be a difference between Delilah and Ruth, and between Jezebel and Deborah, there is a level of consecration that God is demanding from whoever wants to follow him all the way.

If you don’t want to remain as a mediocre Christian, halfway to the top, you need to take steps that will accelerate you forward in God’s will to make you enter the level of priesthood.

Jesus Christ says, “When I am lifted up, I will draw all men into me”. If your desire is to rise up with Christ, there are some things you need to leave behind, if not they will drag you down on your way upward. Set your affection on the things above, not on the things of the earth.

You should be separated from the seat of the scornful, not sit with sinners, and not walk in the counsel of the ungodly.

The Bible gave the law that concerned the priest in the Old Testament and also repeated in the New Testament, a priest does not divorce or marry a divorcee, a priest must be the husband of one wife and be able to manage his household.

The deeper you seek after God, you’ll realise that the more you thirst after the living word, and the more you will realise that you have more way to go in attaining the level of his stature, it’s not by power, nor by might but by the spirit of God.

I wonder how a Christian of twenty years in the ministry can’t be different from a newly born-again Christian in nature.

It might be as a result of two things, probably he might not be regenerated but pretending to be a Christian, wolves in sheep’s clothing, or he might have known God in the beginning but deviated after some invisible pressure.

They are called and they are chosen, the chosen will not be satisfied with the doctrines of men but desire to move further in their knowledge of the word and the kingdom of God.

They move forward from the hall of congregation to the place of the priesthood, thereby working their salvation with fear and trembling to enter the holy of holies of the tabernacle.

Once God speaks, and twice have I heard; there are inferences in the Bible that point towards the holy place of God which belong only to the priests and who aspire to it.

King David asked, “Who shall ascend into the hills of God? Or who shall stand in his holy place? (This is the position meant for the priesthood)

He said, ” he that hath clean hands and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul to vanity nor sworn deceitfully.

This is the criteria and the condition attached to the priesthood of God, but unfortunately, there are Christians who are far from being a priest but they settled halfway to the top and never reach the pinnacle that God decided to fulfil their destiny.

They follow the multitude to commit sin, because others are doing it, they are compelled into it and join the multitude on their way to hell.

They preferred the hall of congregation because there sat those who are not serious with their spirituality and join the rebellious against the ordinances of the Almighty.

These kind had set their soul to seek after the vanity of the world and indulge themselves in the spirit of “it doesn’t matter” to silence their conscience, how will they be in the company of the priest set aside by God to inherit his heavenly kingdom?

Priests are those who are disciples by Christ himself and were given the spirit of adoption, they passed under the tutelage of God and come under the directive of holy spirit to be disciples by Christ, “it’s only those who the Father has taught and learnt of him that shall come to me”.

Those who are taught by men will only replicate their teachers, they may still remain in the hall of congregation, but not ascend to the realm of priesthood, those who are taught by God, however, will take after the image of their teacher, these are the ones Jesus will invite to sit with him at the right hand of his Father in heaven.
