The gospel is preached by proclaiming the good news and the mystery of godliness to all creation, reconciling them to the Father and to exalt his name above every other name.

But the carnal nature of man intended to exalt themselves above God, many ministers mount the pulpit to exalt themselves and announced their wealth for people to see, they magnify their wives dressing above the message of grace, they announced the cost of their attires to the congregation to arouse the spirit of jealousy in worshippers, to make them think that God is good to others aside themselves.

Many, because of this, stopped attending services and went outside the church to associate themselves with the world, seeking wealth so they could be on the same level as their leaders.

I listened to a message where the preacher only preached himself, what he was doing, how he was moving about doing God’s work, and in the end, people transferred the glory that originally belongs to God to him.

They have gone against the word of God, which says, “do not let your left hand know what the right hand is doing “.

This happened in the case of King Herod, when men thought of him as God. This invoked the wrath of God ,and he sent his angels to smite him, and maggots came out to devour him, for he didn’t give glory to God.

How have we degenerated to such an extent that we exalt self more than God? Are we the ones who died for the sins of the world, or are we the redeemers of God’s children?

This is self-righteousness shrouded in self-praise. Moses did that at the water of Meribah, where he exalted himself more than God, saying, “Should I bring water out for you to drink? And God forbade him from entering the promised land.

Those who don’t have enough clothes to impress others will go outside to borrow to increase their wardrobe, or they’ll say, Why am I going to church? Why can’t I stay in my house to serve God instead of listening to this nonsense every week?

A preacher was bragging to the church about how many private jets he had, and how many houses he had built.

It’s no longer gathering your treasure in heaven, it’s now gathering your treasure on the earth, so that you will love forever to enjoy it.

This is the origin of greed and covet in the life of believers, it’s Satan that introduced this to mock the Church and bring as many as possible to his side.

God is the message we preached, our own is to proclaim him to the world, what he has done and who he is, and what he will do, all this self-aggrandizement and self-exaltation leads to nowhere in the kingdom of God.

Jesus Christ is the beginning, the center and the end of our messages, as he increased and we must decreased, no one can take the place of God in humans life, this is the attribute of Satan and by this he was relegated to the abyss.

Apostles preached Christ, and most of them were martyrs; they lost everything, but only God remains till the end.

Agents of darkness that put their abode among the saints are not just there, their mission is to shift our focus from Jesus to self, they are there to distract them from seeking the true God but the one who sit on the side of the North, this is one of the attributes of Satan: I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, you and me are the stars of God but it’s the redemption by the power of the blood of the lamb that place us above him, making us to sit with Christ at the right hand of his Father in heaven.
