John 8:36
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Every person living on earth desires freedom. They want to live the way they want, and they want to be financially, spiritually, and physically free.
If you are not free spiritually, your financial and physical freedom is not guaranteed.
Men love the freedom to practise their faith according to what they believe without outside interference. But Satan has held humanity captive from the beginning and placed them under his service, unknown to them.
The freedom offered by Jesus Christ is the freedom to live without sin, serve God in spirit and in truth, live only for God and His purpose, and walk in the will of God.
This is the freedom that can only be found in Jesus Christ. It is the Son of God who grants this freedom when you believe in His name.
No one is absolutely free in the true sense. Either you are under the control of one power or another, under the power that influences you to do according to its own will.
No one is in control of his own destiny. The power in charge is the one in control, but God has supreme preeminence over all.
The things humanity does not have the power to do are the will of God, because the spirit lusts after the flesh and the flesh after the spirit, so you can’t do as you wish.
They have the power to obey their flesh or follow the will of the devil, but they do not have the power to abide in God’s will; it’s only the spiritual man that lives under spiritual authority.
This is not freedom but bondage: bondage to Satan, the flesh, and the world. Since they are not submitted to the authority of Christ, another power must have control. There is no middle ground.
The only true freedom in the world is the freedom to abide in God’s will and fulfil His purpose, even when others are going in the opposite direction.
All other so-called freedoms without Christ are bondage in disguise.
Freedom in Christ is the key that gives man access to the things prepared for him from the foundation of the world, without satanic interference.
This is the freedom that aligns you with the purpose for which you were created and elevates you to the position you were given from the beginning.
This is also the freedom that gives you dominion and authority over the prince of this world and puts all his power under your feet.
Some think they have the freedom to use the power of the devil to work against him, not knowing that they are still operating under the influence of the prince of this world. This is not freedom at all, but the enemy’s trick to trample on you and subject you to his authority.
It is only the Son of God who has the power to exercise unquestionable dominion over principalities and powers, which will by no means harm you. All other ways of dominion are counterfeit.
There is no freedom in obeying the flesh or following your heart’s desires, as many presume. It only leads to bondage and carnal desires, which result in death.
What is sometimes called human rights is not what many presume it to be. It can become a licence to walk away from the will of God and follow the desires of the flesh.
This kind of righteousness has been misinterpreted in worldly terms: the right to disobey your parents, the right to fornication and adultery, and the right to terminate lives through abortion are presented as licences to commit outright disobedience against the law of God. This is not freedom; it is rebellion which leads to bondage.
The right to dress the way you want and feel satisfied and complete is not freedom. Whatever makes you walk in opposition to divine direction has placed you in the bondage of the devil.
There are Christian souls inside Satan’s captivity, walking into it themselves just to feel that they belong, not knowing that they have deliberately placed their names among rebellious children.
Do you not know that one of the most difficult things to do on earth is to serve God with a genuine heart? That is why men pretend to serve Him while living hypocritically among the brethren.
If you do not have Jesus in your life, you cannot serve God completely as you suppose. It is His power that separates you permanently from the control of the devil and places you under the authority of His Word.
There is nothing like neutrality in this world, and there is nothing like freedom without Christ. It is only those whom He sets free by the power of His blood who are free indeed.
Whatever only Christ can do cannot be done by men. If men can give freedom, why do the most powerful men on earth remain in captivity to wicked powers?
The hands of those whom you think can offer liberation physically or financially are tied by the law and ordinances of the devil. A man with tied hands is unable to set another person free in any ramifications.
Most deliverance ministers are under the powers of darkness; they too need deliverance in every area where they are tied down by sin and the works of the flesh.
How can a worldly person deliver another from worldliness, or how can a man tied by sin deliver others from the powers of iniquity?
Most of those who claim to deliver are only doing demon exchanges. They remove poverty and give you woes that’ll remove your name from the book of life; they take away headaches to give you cancer; they remove afflictions to give you loads of iniquity.
With sickness, you can still make heaven if your alliance with Christ is intact, but how do you make heaven with loads of sins that break your relationship with Him?
True freedom can only be found in Jesus Christ alone. In Him, there is liberty to serve God in spirit and in truth, and to fulfil the reason you’re created.
Whether you walk yourself into captivity or you’re caged by the power that destroys your progenitors, the true freedom is in Christ.
Prayer: Father, set your children who are caged by Satan free by your precious blood, in Jesus name, amen.
