Read The Price of Wisdom and The Place of Understanding – Sermon By Arm of The Lord Christian Ministry
1 Cor 1:18 ( For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God)
Intellect can’t be compared with the wisdom of God, every man is intellectual to some degree, even Satan and demons are more intelligent than human beings.
Adam was created as an intelligent being before the fall and his Intellect was polluted by that of the devil when he failed to abide in God’s wisdom, that is the fear of God.
There is no way you can be a wise person without understanding, for they both work together to bring human beings to the perfection of God.
But not all intellectual men have understanding; they don’t have the insight that will make their lives work together with the will of God.
Intellect and wisdom must be applied in your relationship with others but it’s in God’s wisdom that you will build your relationship with God by being in total obedience to his word.
You can’t deal with God with Intellect, that is what most of us do, our preaching turns to motivation the moment we applied humans wisdom; trying to understand God’s way with our reprobate minds won’t help us, only in obedience to thus saith the lord can we excel above all our contemporaries in the world.
King David was wiser than his teachers because he feared God more than man.
All men are wise in their own eyes, but when that wisdom is measured by God’s word, it collapses, you can find God with human wisdom, he makes foolish the wisdom of this world to confound the wise,, he said, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent”.
That is why most men of intellectual can’t find God, they struggle through life blindly to find themselves in the grave at the end.
He hid himself from the wise and prudent but revealed it to babes and the humble in spirit.
Wisdom is the application of knowledge, no matter how knowledgeable you are in the things of God, but without applying it is already wasted, God is not looking for the hearer that wont come to the knowledge of truth, but he is looking for those who will listen and put it into practice.
Most of us Christians are like this, we love to learn and know the will of God, we love to see people learning the way of the lord from us, but have we put what we teach others into practice in our relationship with God and man?
We teach men not to steal, but we steal from our place of work and even had audacity to steal from God.
Some teach against fornication and perversion, are we not perverted in our relationship with the opposite sex and make our teaching ineffective?
Most of us failed in our responsibilities the moment we teach others but not ourselves, wisdom is only profitable to those who apply knowledge.
King Solomon was a man of high intelligence which cannot be found in any man who lives, he was able to speak the mind of God but not able to act it, and all things now became vanity unto him.
It’s when you see God active in all things that you will discern the essence of all things, and the meaning of life will start unfold and you will utilise it to your benefit and that of others.
A life that isn’t centred on God won’t have meaningful endings, if you centre your life chasing after wind, it will surely lead to regret and vanity as that of King Solomon , this is the end of a fool that doesn’t take God into consideration in all his doings.
Whatever is done in God’s Will have eternal value.
I used to wonder about some women of God who preached to others, had they had the fear of God, they wouldn’t bring worldliness to the altar, even if they’re worldly, actions speak volumes more than words.
To rightly divide the word of truth also is for the speaker, wisdom is what separates a spiritual man from a religious man, foolishness has pitched many believers into the camp of religion, trying to serve God in their own understanding not according to the will of God.
Religious men use to judge others but not themselves according to the written word of God.
If the word you preached don’t have effects in your life it won’t have any impact on others, its when God has performed the work of regeneration in you, that is when you will be able to bring others to God and they will remain.
No one can understand God by his own wisdom, nor can his way be understood by human understanding, let go and let God have his way, this is the life of those who live totally under the obedience of his Word.
Prayer: Father lord, give me the grace to live under your commandment and authority all the days of my life, so that I won’t end my life as a fool, in Jesus name amen.
