Matthew 10:25 (It is enough for disciples that he be as his master and the servant of his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household)

If the Jesus Christ you are following doesn’t take things from your life, you have not entered the realm of discipleship. There is a cost for everything, though your sin is forgiving, you gave away what is not beneficial to your soul, but retain what is of benefit, like your titles, social status and connection, academic titles and society honours. You are yet to enter the realm of discipleship.

John and James, of the same parents, desired to sit at the right and the left hand of Jesus Christ in heaven, but are they ready to pay the price? That is, to drink the same cup and eat the same plate with him, that is, to experience the same suffering as him.

Even though Jesus paid all by his sacrifice on the cross, you still need to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. This is the verse that many Christians omit and miss the purpose of God for their lives.

Many Christians desire to be in the same heaven as Christ, but are they ready to pay the price, not to mention being one of His disciples?
It’s a thing to be called, and it’s another thing to be chosen. Calling is much different from being chosen. Are you ready to be separated from all things that are causing offence between you and yourCreatorr?

Are you ready to tread the same path with him to be able to move forward to the inner circle of the inner sanctum to meet the lord within the veil?

The veil of the temple has been rent into twain; it depends on your determination to press forward to see the face of the lord.

Many stopped being his disciples when the cost was analysed; they were not able to be partakers of his flesh and his blood, nor share in his body as their spiritual meals.

Jesus didn’t call them back nor coerce them into believing in him; he faced the remaining twelve and asked if they, too, were ready to leave.

But one of them said, Where should we go? It’s you who has the word of life.

If you don’t want to be hated by men, but your desire is to please all men despite their disagreement on your faith, you have failed in your mission.

If you can’t deny yourself of all worldly acquisition but still want to be addressed as doctors and chief with all the titles of the world combined together to your name, you’re yet to humble yourself to reach the status of Christ.

If there is anything in you that is still demanding the worship of men, you are not part of his disciples, you are only called but not chosen.

Most Christians are not ready to dump what is hated by God we are only looking for the bible passages that support our discrepancy.

Discipleship means absolutely surrender to the authority of “thus saith the Lord”.

Someone wanted to follow him, but he was demanding to bury his father first, but the reply of Christ to that is “let the dead bury their dead”.

It might contradict the tradition, but Christ’s injunction is clear that the will of God must come first in whatever you do.

Another one said, he wants to take permission from his household, but Christ says, No one who puts his hand to the plough and turns back is fit for the kingdom of God.

He knows that not every family member will be happy about the new development, some might want to pull you back and stop you with the word of discouragement, which might jeopardise your relationship with God and hinder you from making heaven.

The bible is saying do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, but your response is that they can be of help to you in the future. The Lord who asked you to dump them knows they are of no benefit to your spiritual advancement, but rather are an obstacle to your future.

He told Peter and John to stop fishing, but to become fishers of men, they immediately dumped their nets and followed him.

Father Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son to see the lord face, is the career the lord asked you to dump bigger than that, that you can give it up to follow the cause for which you’re born?

Apostle Paul dumped his career as a lawyer and his social status as a student under Gamaliel to build his relationship with Christ.

He loves what God loves and hates what he hates, he not only experienced the power of his resurrection but also became a participant in the fellowship of his suffering.

Some can give their resources but won’t release themselves under the lordship of Christ; they don’t know that their souls are the reason he came to die on the cross and are more important to him than thousands of galaxies of stars.

If you can’t give yourself, your resources are of no value to him.

Many who want to be his disciples only see the gain but don’t count the cost.

Some even covet the title of apostle but do not actually have any special message from God to deliver to humanity.

They only imagine the honour given by men for being a servant of God, but not the rejection and persecution received by men for following Christ.

Can you give your last meal to satisfy hungry souls and remain like that waiting for divine intervention?

Can you give up your last mite to help the work of God like the widow in the synagogue?

The power to become disciples can only be given by God to those who are ready to go all the way with him to the place of crucifixion, not those who stop in the middle and become mediocre in the things of God.
