Luke 9:23 ( and he said to them all if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me)
There are many Christians who are supposed to sit at the feet of the Lord, constantly learning from the word of God.
They rush out of his presence and establish their ministry, running after posts and titles in Christian circles.
If they’re not learning from him how will they teach others, it’ll be garbage in and garbage out.
This is where we need to follow his steps whichever way he passed us through.
This is the junction that many Christians miss; they follow leaders who don’t follow Christ, miss their way, and are diverted to the broad way.
Which resulted in begetting likes and turned them into twice the children of hell.
We are satisfied with the anointing of our leaders and forget that Jesus has more than enough for us to do past what he did while on earth if we follow him without looking back.
When you rely on your leader’s anointing to function, you won’t grow past above him in all ramifications, but the anointing of those who follow the Lord can’t be exhausted.
They’ll keep on growing to reach the level of Christ’s stature, which is infinite.
After you have denied yourself and bear your cross daily, the next thing is to follow Christ; this must be complete to reach that level above the forces of darkness who will try to pull you down, but it won’t be possible for they’re already placed under your feet.
There is a young man who is zealous about the things of God and went on prayers and fasting, asking God for the mantle of Reinhard Bounke.
Then the Lord appeared to him, handed over to him the Bible, and asked him to go and study it.
No matter the mantles of the man of God you covet, without the study of the word it’ll all be in vain.
We follow Christ by obeying all his commandments and doing things as if he were there with us.
We will ask ourselves, if Christ is standing here, will I laugh at this joke?”.
Is this word I am about to say edify the church or glorify the name of Christ?
If I go to that place will the angel of God follow me there?
All these questions matter if we truly want to follow him to the end.
When we follow Christ, we’ll be like Him, but when we decide to follow others, we’ll become their carbon copies.
As many ministers do nowadays, they want to be like some popular men of God, copy their dress and speech, but they will never be like Christ.
They’re just photocopies of others, and they won’t live their real lives, only live as a counterfeit.
There are procedures in following Christ, God won’t rush, he walks step by step line upon line, by the time you want to rush past Him, you will reach a junction of confusion where his presence won’t be felt, and won’t know which way to follow; you’ll need to wait for him before you can advance if truly you’re one of his followers.
But if you miss the road by following the distraction of the devil, you’re lost forever.
You follow by constant learning at his feet and not digress by the distraction of the world and Satan.
Prayer: Father Lord, be my light while walking through the darkness in the journey of life, in Jesus’ name amen
